August 9: We started our pre-Zaylee last hoorah vacation! We drove from NC to VA to drop off our Calli Girl with my parents and my lil sister Lindi. We also left our car there too for Lindi to drive while we were gone. It's always good to be home--even if it is for less than 24 hours!
August 10: On this day I would have rather traveled with triplet infants...or toddlers than my husband! We were on standby status at the airport so the instructions we received were to arrive at the airport early and be ready to check in at 4:15 am. This makes for an early wake up considering we had a one hour drive to airport. Well, me being me, we got there uber early, 3:30 and I thought Bach was going to kill me! And so it begins....it was worse than the Army's "hurry up and wait" policy. To make a long story short we took many o' naps in the airport terminal and took many o' trips to the customer service desk to find out the next flight we could get on. Boy oh boy you would have thought that Bach was hormonal and pregnant--not me! And don't get it twisted, he was very well prepared for this day, and was in the know that it could be an entire travel day to get to one place. That's exactly what it was. End result: An 8:30pm empty aircraft for a non-stop, one way flight from VA to San Diego!! The west coast and our vacation was finally underway! His family was so kind to work with our crazy travel plans and make sure we got to where we needed to go!
We didn't get to San Diego until 11:45 pm (west coast time) just to realize that our bags got sent to LAX--surprise, surprise! Good thing I listened to my Mom and packed and extra outfit or two in my carry on! Mom's are the best!
August 11: Aunt Steph picked me up and took me to Grandma and Grandpa's and Uncle Chris was there to get Bach and take him to his boy's bachelor party in Huntington Beach. Upon arriving at Grandma's well into the wee hours of the morning, I was greeted by a smiling face, one of which I've never met before, but felt like I had. That's the amazing thing about Grandma's, they offer such a beautiful spirit. I think you inherit that, if you don't already have it, as soon as you become a Grandma!
Later that day after a few good hours of sleep I wake up to a house that feels like a home and a smiling Grandma and quiet Grandpa! I had only an hour to get ready before the family breakfast was going to be underway. The "Meet and Greet Paige and Zaylee" breakfast! It was good to meet everyone--finally! Uncle Chris, 2 out of the 3 of his kids; Mark and Ariana, Uncle John and his wife Norma and their son Dylan, Aunt Steph's boyfriend Eli and of course Harley was there too! They were all so lovely! After breakfast we had some cake to celebrate Zaylee and I got to open a few gifts that people got for her! It was very special and I was so grateful to have married into such a wonderful, loving family!

I also got to meet Bach's three cousins; Jenny, Stephanie, and Sabrina! Jenny and Stephanie went to dinner at Red Robin and then went to go meet Sabrina at her apartment! Hope to meet all of their kids next time! It was so good to meet them all though!
