In The Waiting Room

In the waiting room at the doctor's office Bach was bored so he picked up a baby Bible Story book, I took the opportunity to start recording him with his phone.  As he was looking through it I asked him to read Psalm 139: 13-17.  Because it was a storybook it didn't have verses in it so I pulled it up on my phone and handed it to him to read.

For those of you that know my lovely husband he is very much animated, fun, and loves to put on a show everywhere he goes!  He didn't ask why I wanted him to read that verse (or WHY I was recording him) but as he read it he started acting out the words.  As I knew my plan, I was cracking up laughing, of course he thought I was laughing at him but the joke was on him.  So, once he was done reading it, he still didn't get it.  So, I handed him one of the postcards that I had brought and sealed in an envelope.  I told him I brought him a card because I loved him.  He opened it, all the while still on camera.  Below you can watch the excitement unfold! He was "speechless"!  You might need to turn your volume up!

Sorry for the quality that's the only way we could get it to upload!
Sorry we couldn't upload the entire video it was too big! :(

Postcard!

This was how I broke the news to the family and to Bach.  It may be hard to read but it is Psalm 139:13-17.  It is a beautiful verse!  I mailed these postcards off to the Grandparents, my sister April, and the Great Grandparents!

At the time these were enroute in the mail, I conveniently had my first ultrasound appointment.  So, I told Bach that we had another infertility appointment and he had to come with me.  Although he was reluctant, he came anyway...what a trooper....and my plan would be able to unfold nicely!

Brainstorming!

I needed some help brainstorming on how to tell Bach and I felt like I had to tell SOMEONE else!  I went to my best friend's house later that day and while her 2 year old son was taking a nap I went into the bathroom, for a good amount of time, and Sharpie'd on one of his white tees.  When he woke up from his nap I rushed into his room and changed his shirt before he walked out to see Mommy.  Our other friend, Paige, was over too.  When she went to change his pull-up she was like, "What?!? Javi where did you get this shirt...what does it say?"  I was smiling and I turned him around so she could read the back!  She started crying and freaking out!  Then Paige read the shirt and we all embraced and immediately starting Pinterest-ing clever ideas on how to tell Bach and the families!

When I Found Out!

I'm generally pretty in tune with my body, so before I took that pregnancy test I had a feeling that it was going to read positive.  But, when I did it, Bach was sleeping.  It took that stick forever to read "Pregnant"...I was about to open and try another one.  I've never been known to be the patient one.  But, once it read PREGNANT I was excited but reserved...anything could happen and I was only 5 weeks at most!

To keep with tradition, like the first time I was pregnant, I called my little sister Lindi at 5:20am to break the exciting news to her!  She isn't a morning person and guessed right away why I was calling.  Almost like, I should know better than to call her that dag on early if it wasn't amazing news or a dire emergency.  I knew she was excited even though her tone was still half asleep!  She was now going to be an Auntie of three!  Our dearest niece, Payton Lee, who is 2 1/2 years old and our other sister, April who is pregnant again, also!

I decided to keep the news from my husband until a little later because he has a HUGE mouth and would tell everyone and I wasn't ready for all that just yet.  The hardest part of losing our first baby was telling everyone the unfortunate news.  I didn't want to have to go through that again!  I also wanted to surprise him this time with a clever way of telling him!

Reloaded!

Maybe you're wondering, "why reloaded"??  Well, two years ago my husband and I lost a baby and I delivered at 18 weeks.  After two years of trying and the doctor's telling us to consider invitro...we got pregnant!  When man says no, God resounds YES!!  We are extremely excited and thrilled to be able to take you on this journey with us!
